With over 25 seasons, our TV show has established itself as one of the most credible resources for DIY home improvement enthusiasts, founded by Ron Hazelton. 

As the former Home Improvement Editor for Good Morning America, Ron Hazelton reported on a variety of topics related to home improvement, design, repair, health, and safety. He hosted the History Channel series, Hands on History and other History Channel programs including Modern Marvels and Save our History: Frontier Homes. Ron has also offered his home improvement expertise on The Oprah Winfrey Show and Inside Edition. In 1989, Ron pioneered the concept of reality-based, on-location home improvement television with The House Doctor. The series of more than 200 episodes, which he originally created, co-produced, and hosted for KGO-TV in San Francisco, aired for several years on the Home and Garden Television Network (HGTV). He has authored Ron Hazelton's HouseCalls: America's Most Requested Home Improvement Projects, published by Time-Life books and Home Basics series: Plumbing Made Easy and Electrical Made Easy. We continue to honor his legacy by providing you with what he loved - teaching trusted home improvement techniques from his real-life experience and extensive experiene and library of ideas. 

Brian Kelsey is an American television host who has worked with HGTV, Martha Stewart, DIY and other networks, as well as countless segments on The Today Show, Fox News Network, CNN, MSNBC, HBO, and hundreds of other TV and Radio stations across the country. A carpenter at heart, Brian is joining the HouseCalls team, eager to share his vast knowledge and inspire your next home improvement project! As a neighbor to RON HAZELTON, he resides in Fairfield, Connecticut.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ron Hazelton (March 29, 1942 - April 30, 2023), a true pioneer in the field of do-it-yourself home improvement. He had a familiar way of explaining projects that made it so doable, like you were speaking to a father, grandfather, or uncle. Ron's impact on the industry was felt far and wide, and he shared his expertise with audiences across a variety of platforms.

We deeply grieve his passing, but we are grateful to have been a part of a remarkable career that has had a profound impact on so many lives. Ron loved his work, and his passion was evident in everything he did. He was always eager to share his knowledge and our devoted editorial team will continue to honor his legacy by providing you with what he loved - trusted home improvement projects and tips from his extensive library of ideas.
