The secret to a great sanding job is to use several different grits or grades of sandpaper, starting with the coarsest and moving to the finest. This can mean keeping a lot of different kinds of sandpaper on hand. Then, too, there are even more abrasive papers for sanding metal, smoothing coats of finish and other specialized tasks.
Keeping all that sandpaper stored, organized and readily accessible can be a bit of a challenge. One solution is to put it in a collapsible file folder and label the tabs showing the type and/or grit of the paper.
No more fumbling through drawers or searching cluttered shelves -- just open the file and find exactly what is needed.
Some of these folders even have a handle on the top, so you can carry your entire collection right to the worksite.
